This serving platter represent the fine craft of Japanese porcelain and are also a piece of Hawaiian History. The Y.Y markings on the underside, represent mid century Japanese porcelain from Yonemoto Store in Honolulu, Hawaii. Porcelain pieces were made in Japan then shipped to Hong Kong for decoration before arriving to the Hawaiian Islands and offered for sale at Hiromune Yonemotos eponymous shop in Honolulu during the 1960s. Raised scales with deep colors rimmed with gold and hand painted details are stunning for sashimi or display.
